Restorative Yoga

Bhadra Yoga is unique in that we are the only yoga studio in Omaha to give Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainings (four times per year) – also unique in that we offer a traditional experience with our Restorative yoga classes, held two Sunday afternoons per month at 2:00 p.m.  It is a full-service, nurturing class taught by Melanie McLeod, with each class assisted by a student-trainee.  We limit participation to 6 participants due to the intense service we provide by setting you up for each pose in the sequence.

A Restorative yoga sequence contains an initial 30-minute body-scan, practiced in Savasana (supported corpse pose), followed by 4 additional poses which are held  from 5 – 20 minutes each, fully supported by props.  The teachers arrange the props for you, sheet and place eye and body pillows.  We use essential oils and body-cueing throughout the class experience.  We give you a “yoga nidra” experience (a state of conscious deep sleep), while your practice is to utilize the meditative tools of being present; following your breath, and releasing into the pose.  You do not need to bring your mat to this class; we are fully prepared and set up for YOU.
